Fall has arrived on Broadway, and it brought plenty with it. This October has a big batch of star-led openings, a few surprise extensions, and two long-running favorites heading into their final months. There are 30 shows playing right now. Here's what's new, what's leaving, and the full list.
The 2026–27 season has started with a run of headline-grabbing plays. Several are still in previews, so tickets can be cheaper before opening night.
Hudson Theatre · through January 17, 2027
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ed Harris, Allison Janney, Joe Keery and Lily Rabe star in this revival of Jon Robin Baitz's Tony-winning family drama. A daughter comes home to Palm Springs for Christmas with a memoir that could expose her family's secrets.
Imperial Theatre · through January 3, 2027 · ~1 hr 40 min, no intermission
Billy Crystal returns with a new autobiographical solo show. It centers on the house his family lost in the Palisades fire. The run is strictly limited to 14 weeks.
Todd Haimes Theatre · through November 22, 2026
Tony winner Bill Irwin leads his own new adaptation of Molière's comedy about a professional hypochondriac. This short Roundabout run closes before Thanksgiving.
Vivian Beaumont Theater · through January 10, 2027
Bradley Whitford and Tom Blyth star in Lincoln Center Theater's revival of Aaron Sorkin's courtroom drama. Tony winner Michael Arden directs.
James Earl Jones Theatre · ~2 hr 15 min
The only new musical of the fall so far. It tells the mostly true story of outlaw sisters Mary and Martha Clarke in the 1890s, and stars Solea Pfeiffer, Liisi LaFontaine and Ledisi.
If any of these are on your list, book now:
Cast change to note: Jeremy Jordan plays his final performance in Just in Time on October 18. Matthew Morrison takes over Bobby Darin from October 20 to November 8.
Good news for procrastinators. The Rocky Horror Show at Studio 54 has extended for the third time and now runs through February 28, 2027, with Jake Shears as Frank-N-Furter. Schmigadoon! pushed its closing from September to January, and The Lost Boys has extended into 2027.
We said goodbye to a lot of shows this summer: Moulin Rouge!, Ragtime, Death of a Salesman, Beaches, Titanique, Dog Day Afternoon, Giant, Every Brilliant Thing, Fallen Angels and Becky Shaw. CATS: The Jellicle Ball, Chess and Death Becomes Her are no longer running either.
Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell star in Jamie Lloyd's Much Ado About Nothing at the Winter Garden. Previews start October 31 and it opens November 19. Bruce Norris's Downstate at the Booth has pushed back its first preview, so watch for new dates.
Here's the full list as of October 13, 2026, newest first.
