The Queen of Versailles Musical, Starring Kristin Chenoweth, Announces Broadway Opening

Broadway is about to get a dose of glitz, glamour, and high-stakes drama as The Queen of Versailles, the new musical featuring a score by legendary composer Stephen Schwartz, officially makes its way to the Great White Way this fall. Starring Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth and acclaimed actor F. Murray Abraham as billionaire couple Jackie and David Siegel, the production will take center stage at the St. James Theatre. Previews are set to begin on October 8, with a star-studded red-carpet celebration scheduled for November 9—just one day before the show’s official opening night on November 10.

Inspired by the 2012 documentary of the same name, The Queen of Versailles tells the real-life story of Jackie Siegel, a former beauty queen and socialite, and her husband David Siegel, a timeshare mogul, as they attempt to build the largest private home in America—only to see their lavish dreams threatened by financial turmoil. With Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell) composing the score and a powerhouse cast led by Chenoweth, the show is poised to deliver both high drama and high notes.

With a mix of spectacle, humor, and an emotional look at the American Dream gone awry, The Queen of Versailles is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about musicals of the season. Get ready to step into a world of excess and ambition—Broadway’s newest luxury estate opens its doors this fall!
